Almost 3,000 meters above sea level, the Zugspitze defies wind, weather and crowds – every day. The flat roof construction and visitor platform therefore required an insulating material that was absolutely reliable. GLAPOR cellular glass boards met these extreme requirements with aplomb and continue to provide safe footfall resistance and the best protection to this day.

Harsh conditions prevail at an altitude of 2,962 meters: Temperature fluctuations, snow loads, humidity and constant public traffic. The insulation material used therefore had to be compression-free, permanently pressure-resistant, non-combustible and absolutely leak-proof. The full-surface installation of GLAPOR boards guarantees exactly that – without compromise.

Safety was the top priority. Thanks to the closed cell structure, the material is waterproof, dimensionally stable and resistant to ageing – even under extreme conditions. This ensures many years of functionality with minimal maintenance.
